The Chemo Buddy was developed by Oskar Nord, a cancer survivor, during his own challenging journey battling Ewing sarcoma. Recognizing the discomfort caused by IV lines connected to ports during treatment, Oskar developed a simple yet effective solution.
The Chemo Buddy is a cover that wraps around IV lines. It serves as a barrier between the cold IV lines and the skin, providing a soft and comforting layer for individuals with ports. The inspiration for this invention came from Oskar's own experience of using a simple yet effective makeshift solution—a cut-up fuzzy sock—wrapped around the IV lines. This prototype provided instant relief, allowing for better rest and relaxation during treatment.
The Chemo Buddy aims to ease discomfort and make treatment more comfortable for people fighting cancer.
